Is the Flat Earth a conspiracy?

Is the Flat Earth a conspiracy?

I found an interesting website today.

These are from his introduction:

For the first 3 years I left video comments showing solid scientific evidence that flat Earth is fiction. It's based on personal religious belief and purposeful conspiracy. There are different personal agendas at play. During those 3 years’ channels owners deleted my proofs and eventually banned me. They worked to keep their video comment sections "clean" of any discussion contradictory to what they wanted to present.

and

The Earth is not flat. That claim is a conspiracy theory perpetrated by ignorant people who have ulterior personal motives and agendas.

I don't quite understand his use of the term "conspiracy" here. I guess many flatearthers are conspiring together to inform others and get them to question the globe earth model.

Here was an interesting article from his site about the FE Conference this summer:

Flat Earth International Conference (Canada) 2018 – A Christian religious tent revival meeting

Here are some of his comments:

This flat Earth conference organized by FECORE is dominated by Christian biblical literalists. Flat Earth is a primary conduit vehicle for putting their faith in front of the public.

I don't think the conference was done by FECORE. I know some of their members were speakers there though. I do think that most of the speeches were done by Bible literalists like Robbie Davidson, Matt Long, and Rob Skiba. I personally think that Flat Earth is a great conduit to help people break out of Scientism and realize that they were "fearfully and wonderfully made" by God. Some of the speakers might think that too.

Human emotion and ego centered world-view preservation (i.e., decisions are emotional, not based on fact or rational thinking) are responsible for the current flat Earth conspiracy contagion.

Almost all of us current Flat Earthers used to be heliocentric, globe believers (and all of the presenters have said this). So when each of us realized the world was flat, we had to swallow our pride and admit we were wrong our whole lives. Once we accepted Flat Earth as the more realistic model of our world, it was reassuring that we could now take bigger parts of the Bible literally and we enjoy sharing it with others.
