The One who builds His upper chambers in the heavens And has founded His vaulted dome over the earth, He who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the face of the earth, The LORD is His name. --Amos 9:6

Salvation

Salvation

Jesus taught us that there is ONE way to heaven, and that is through himself. He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." --John 14.6

So how then do you get to heaven? The problem is that men have all sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standards. When mankind fell in the Garden of Eden, when they began to disobey God, they became estranged from God. But God had a plan to reconcile men to Himself.

He selected out a people for himself. They would write down his scriptures and serve as an example to the rest of the world. There could be no reconciliation with God without the shedding of blood, because the punishment for sin is death. God allowed men to be temporarily reconciled to Him by the sacrifice of animals. A perfect lamb was selected each year to be sacrificed for the sins of the Hebrews. This painted a picture of Jesus to come.

So God sent his son down to earth to be born of a virgin, and become the final, perfect sacrifice for mankind's sins. Jesus willingly went to the cross and suffered excruciating pain and death so that we could be reconciled to God. Jesus lived a perfect sinless life so that He could be the perfect sacrifice, paying not for His sins, but the sins of mankind. He died, remained in the grave 3 days and 3 nights, and was resurrected from the dead. He then appeared to his followers: the Apostles and then to 500 of his followers.

Now, when we repent, that is turn from our sins and quit doing them, and put our trust in Jesus and His salvation, we can inherit eternal life.

If you wish to have this salvation, pray and ask God to forgive your sins, and ask him to save you and be the Lord of your life.
